For the past while we have been asking those interested in working for Shopify to include (in addition to their cover letter and CV etc) a link to the funniest thing they have seen on the internet recently. Our initial intention was purely self serving so we would have something fun to consume with each of the 1000's of applications we receive and read each year. Yes, we read them all.
Given the thought that typically goes into the best applications and the massiveness of the humour pool on the internet, this has positioned us well to curate a list of the funniest things on the internet. We think this deserves to be shared. To the thousands of candidates who have contributed to this; thank you. To everyone else, you are welcome.
